Coach John Pledger has been a member of the Oak Mountain High School family for seven years. he was born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama and attended Hokes Bluff High School. After graduating from Hokes Bluff, Coach Pledger attended Jacksonville State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement and a master's degree in secondary education. Coach Pledger began coaching at Leeds High School in 1994. While at Leeds, he served as an assistant varsity football and head junior varsity basketball coach. In 1997, Coach Pledger joined the new Clay-Chalkville High School, where he served as an assistant varsity football coach and head freshman boys' basketball coach. In 1999, Coach Pledger joined the Oak Mountain High School staff in its inaugural season. While at Oak Mountain, he has served as assistant varsity football coach, head junior varsity basketball coach, and head boys' golf coach. Recently, Coach Pledger has been named the new defensive coordinator, while he is still serving as the head golf coach. Coach Pledger has been an educator for 12 years and currently teaches driver's education at Oak Mountain. He currently resides in the Inverness community. |
