Coach Danny DuBose has been a member of the Oak Mountain High School family for seven years. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Huffman High School. After graduating, he attended Auburn University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in secondary education. Coach DuBose began coaching at McAdory High School in 1994. He served as assistant junior high football coach, head 8th grade football coach, and head junior high softball coach. Coach DuBose then left McAdory to join the staff at Clay-Chalkville High School in 1997. There, he served as an assistant varsity football coach, assistant varsity and junior varsity softball coach, and assistant varsity and junior varsity girls' basketball coach. In 1999, Coach DuBose joined the Oak Mountain High School staff in its inaugural season. While at Oak Mountain, he has served as an assistant varsity football coach and head varsity softball coach. In 2001 and 2003, Coach DuBose was named Shelby County Coach of the Year and in 2001, his softball team won the 5A fast pitch softball state championship. Currently, he serves as the defensive line coach and head softball coach. After five years at Oak Mountain, Coach DuBose was named girls' athletic director in 2004. Since being named to his new position, he has been instrumental in reorganizing the Eagle athletic programs and developing multiple athletic facilities. Coach DuBose is married to the former Casi Bunn of Hueytown. They have been married for six years and have two children, Talli, 4 and Evan, 2. Coach DuBose has been an educator for 11 years and currently teaches geometry teaches geometry at Oak Mountain. He currently resides in the Chelsea community. |
